The friends of the Children's Justice Center of Maui announced the launch of their new mandated reporting filmed entitled Innocence. The film was created in response to recent changes in the State of Hawaii's chapter 350 law surrounding mandated reporting laws for child abuse and or neglect.
Paul Tonnessen, Executive Director of the Friends of the Children's Justice Center of Maui expects the film to make a big impact in the education and understanding of mandated reporting, "This film will enable our agency to distribute much needed information statewide to all the human service agencies, schools, courts and other individuals who work directly with children."
The new mandated reporting film will not only be made available to individuals whom work directly with children, but also the general public. The goal of the film is to emphasize the importance of reporting any suspicions of child abuse and or neglect. The short 12 minute film can also be viewed on the Friends of the Children's Justice Center of Maui's website at www.mauicjc.org. The film was written and produced in partnership with Wade Robson Creations, a film production company based on Maui and by volunteers from the Maui community.
The Friends of the Children's Justice Center of Maui (FCJC) is a private, non-profit corporation, founded in 1989 by a non-partisan group of community and business leaders concerned with the social welfare of children and families who have been traumatized by abuse and severe neglect. Their vision is to have "Every child in Maui County free from abuse and neglect".
